Brunei Badminton Meet

Bandar Seri Begawan - The under l9 Junior Badminton Championship and the Brunei Darussalam National Badminton Championship started on Wednesday at the Multi Purpose Hall, Hassahal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, Berakas.

The event was organised by the National Badminton Association Brunei Datussalam in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The meet which will end on Oct 12 is sponsored by BSM, DST, QAF, HSB and Yonex.

Hj Antin Ahad, the chairman of the tournament committee said the aim of the meet was to enhance the spirit of badminton in Brunei.

Among the favourites for the male under-19 meet is Mardini Salleh and 11-year-old Dk Nur Aniqah Zafirah Pg Sahmininan from Sekolah Rendah Fatimah is the youngest participant. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
