Emergency Exercise A Big Success Says Shell

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sendirian Berhad (BSP), conducted an emergency response exercise yesterday morning codenamed exercise "Helang 2" to test and strengthen its preparedness in responding to an emergency or crisis, a company press release said.

The main objectives of the exercise were to test the integrated response and coordination between the different facilities in BSP and to test response times and communication at different levels of coordination within BSP and other relevant government agencies.

This integrated exercise affecting the Bandar Seri Begawan gas operation was carried out at the Gadong metering station and on public roads along Tungku link and Jalan Gadong.

The exercise involved the BSP Emergency Services and government emergency services such as the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Fire Services Department, Royal Brunei Police Force, and medical personnel from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital.

Exercise "Helang Dua" was another major corporate exercise conducted by the health, safety and environment department of BSP this year.

A post-mortem conducted immediately after the exercise revealed that generally the response from all parties involved was outstanding. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
