Ministry of Communications to hold walkathon Oct 12

The Ministry of Communications yesterday announced in a press release that it will hold a walkathon on October 12, beginning from the parking area of the Berakas Mail and Packages Processing Centre.

The walkathon is open to officers and staff under the Ministry of Communications and will begin at 7 am.

The event will be divided into three categories: male and female veterans aged 45 years and above, male and female adults aged 45 years and below, and lastly, male and female children aged 12 years and above.

For the male participants - veteran and adult - they will have to cover a distance of 7 km, while female veterans, adults and children need only cover a 5 km distance.

The aim of the marathon is to foster closer relationship between staff and officers, as well as to encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle by exercising.

Apart from the officers and staff of the Ministry of Communications, Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Zakaria bin Datu Mahawangsa Awang Haji Sulaiman will also participate in the walkathon along with Dato Paduka Haji Awang Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Awang Abu Bakar, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Communications.
