Birth of a new princess

Princess Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah.

By the command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Grand Chamberlain, Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin yesterday announced that with the grace of Allah the Almighty, His Majesty's daughter, Princess Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah, consort to Pengiran Anak Dato Lela Utama Hj Abdul Rahim bin Pengiran Indera Mahkota Pengiran Anak Hj Kamaluddin has safely given birth to a princess, a granddaughter of His Majesty on the 27th of Rejab 1421H or 25th October 2000 at 4.35am, RTB reported.

A 17-gun salute was fired in the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman.
