The eagerly-awaited fast food outlet,
Kenny Rogers Roasters (KRR), is already in town and will begin
business from 1pm today.
Last night, a special VIP Grand
Opening was held to mark the occasion.
The local franchisee for Brunei
Darussalam's first KRR is CDE Roasters Co (Brunei). Melvin Low,
Operations Manager for CDE Roasters, said, "Our restaurant
responds to consumer needs by offering the kind of nutritious food you
can enjoy at Kenny Rogers Roasters, or take home, and feel good about
serving to your family.
"Very simply, non-fried chicken
is where the industry is headed and we're out in front with Kenny
Rogers wood fire roasted chicken."
KKR's chicken are cooked on a
rotisserie, "literally self-basting itself to a juicy, golden
crispness as the fat drips off, which gives the chicken a special
tender flavour, while being lower in calories, fat and sodium than
fried chicken".
The chicken are marinated in a
special blend of citrus juices and spices. The KRR chicken has 30% or
less calories from total fat, 10% or less calories from saturated fat,
150mg or less cholesterol, and 110mg or less sodium.
Kenny Rogers Roasters is a restaurant
chain which features wood-fire roasted rotisserie chicken as its main
core item. It positions itself as a distinctive alternative to fried
chicken and other quick service restaurants by offering a menu of
fresh quality items and an attractive price or value relationship in a
friendly environment.
The Roasters concept is designed to
provide the comfort, convenience and ambience of a full service casual
dining restaurant.
