Japan Team Briefed On Business
Opportunities
Kuala Belait
– An eighteen - member delegation from Chubu Keizai Doyukai,
Japan, was at the MMS Strategic Learning and Leadership Development
in Sungai Liang, yesterday to learn more about the economic and
investment opportunities that Brunei Darussalam has to offer.

The acting
Chief Executive Officer, Desmond Lim, was on hand to greet
Nobuhiko Sahara, the head of the delegation and the other
members of his team at the centre.
The visit highlights new
economic opportunities for potential collaboration and
partnerships to attract foreign investments.
The delegation was briefed
on the Brunei Economic Development Board's (BEDB) economic
diversification initiatives, by Angel Lim from the Marketing
and Investment Promotion Division of the BEDB.

Steel Centre Company Ltd,
said that the natural characteristics of Brunei's
environment puts it on the right track in its pursuit of
economic development through the creation of new
opportunities in various industries.
The delegation is in
Brunei for a short economic tour to learn more about
Brunei's industry, economic and investment
opportunities, as well as to research and learn about
the foreign labour market in the sultanate. |
The delegation comprises executive
members from various industries in Japan including oil and gas
manufacturing, ICT and shipping.
The briefing was followed by a
visit to the Sungai Liang Industrial Park (Spark) site in Sg Liang
to look at the development including the establishment of Brunei's
first methanol plant.
Chubu Keizai Doyukai is an
association of top corporate and business executives in Chubu region
of Japan aiming to contribute to the economic development of Japan
and promote friendship and self-betterment among its members.
