Stressing Importance Of Oral Hygiene Among Village Residents

Bandar Seri Begawan - A strategy entitled 'Strengthening Community Action' in promoting oral health can assist in expanding the self-expertise in taking care of oral hygiene of children up to five years old. There is a need to jointly practice whatever that relates to enhance knowledge in looking after oral health among children.

This was highlighted yesterday by Dr Mary Cheong Poh Flua, Senior Dental Officer and Head of Oral Health Promotion Division of National Dental Centre at the "Adopted Village" program for Kg Pintu Malim, Kg Sg Lampai and Kg Kota Batu held at the Pintu Malim Primary School. The chief guest was Dr Hjh Norlila bte HI Abd Jalil, Director-General of Medical Services at the Ministry of Health.

The objectives were to promote dental health and enhancing awareness to promote dental care among villagers. It is hoped that the program will address weaknesses and enhance knowledge in improving oral Care among children.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
