Motivational Talks To Celebrate
Global Entrepreneur Week At UBD

Begawan - University Brunei Darussalam is currently
celebrating Global Entrepreneur Week until November 23 at its
Chancellor Hall.

Among the
events organized for this week are `Unleash the Social and
Islamic Entrepreneur in You!' on November 20 as well as
'Slog it Up @: UBD' and 'Wowing the Women Entrepreneurs:
Pretty in Pink Suits in Action!" on Nov 22.
Registration is free and is
limited to 100 seats per event. Anyone is welcome to attend
the events and must register their names, organization and
specify which event(s) they want to attend to ubdgew2008@gmail.com.

Week is aimed at connecting young people everywhere through
local, national and global activities designed to help them
explore their potential as self-starters |

and innovators.
The half-day forum on
Nov 20 entitled, 'Unleash the Social and Islamic
Entrepreneur in You!’ is basically to give an insight of
what social entrepreneurs do and how social
entrepreneurs intersect with Islamic values.
The first speaker will
be a lecturer from UBD, Ak Hj Md Hasnol Alwee Pg Hj Md
Salleh, and he will deliver a talk on business ethics
and Islamic values. The other two invited speakers — Dk
Hjh Saerah Pg Hj Petra and Seri Anne Masri — who are
graduates from UBD, will talk about their hands-on
experiences in micro-credit financing for small
businesses in 1p.mic financing and social
entrepreneurship inlet unei. Both graduates have
assisted single women in Temburong to become
self-employed through selling traditional arts and
handicrafts in Brunei. |
The objectives of the forum are to
expose participants to the fundamentals of Islamic entrepreneurship,
expose others to the fundamental of social entrepreneurship,
encourage entrepreneurialism among the participants, enhance their
personal development skills, build up individual self-esteem and
inspire them to help others in developing a social entrepreneurship
mindset.
This illuminating talk is open to
all students from UBD and selected invited educational institutions
from Ministry of Education, Colleges and Higher Institutions. The
talk will also be beneficial to researchers, SME bodies, private
sector organizations and other youth participants.
