Bandar Seri Begawan – University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) celebrated its 20th convocation with style this year and had lined up a number of fun and exciting activities for the first time.

The celebration continued yesterday with a Hawaiian-themed Beach Carnival at Muara Beach, which was open to the public, from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon.

The carnival received an overwhelming response as members of the public flocked to the beach.

Among the activities organized at the carnival were parlour games — beach touch rugby tournament, rugby mini arcade games, tennis shoot games, face painting — and stage activities ranging from band performances, open karaoke and skit performance. Horse and pony rides, as well as several other activities were also available for younger visitors.

The carnival saw the presence of the Acting Vice Chancellor of UBD, Dr Hj Junaidi bin Hj Abd Rahman. The carnival was organized to foster closer ties among the undergraduates, lecturers, officers and staff of UBD and also the general public. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
