From Prince Charles, It Really Was An Honours Degree

Bandar Seri Begawan - Twenty-six Bruneian students who have graduated from the University of Wales Cardiff (UWIC) across a range of subjects, had a day to cherish Saturday (Nov1) as their degree award ceremony was honoured by the attendance of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall who also presented the scrolls to the triumphant graduates.

Graduating with a BSC Honours degree in Applied Human Nutrition, 22-year-old Nur Ainiedza Hj Idris (not in picture) remarked that UWIC is a very welcoming university where she found all the staff to be very supportive.

In a news release from UWIC, she quoted that "Cardiff is an ideal city for Bruneians and she was very happy there, expressing her delight to be receiving her scroll from HRH the Prince of Wales, adding that it was a wonderful day for her family to celebrate her success at UBD.

In an interview with the (Sunday) Bulletin, three other graduates expressed their honour and happiness to be one of the 26 to receive their

academic award from Prince Charles who was here on a two-day official visit.

Naimah Chuchu, a graduate in BSC Honours Degree in Dental Technology, was delighted to be to have the golden opportunity to receive her degree from the Prince of Wales himself. Attached to the Dental Health Services in Berakas as a dental technician, Naimah who was on a government sponsorship, added that her three years of study in Wales have been very interesting.

Hj Khalid, graduating in BSC Degree Honours on Building Maintenance Management, disclosed that he was unable to attend his initial graduation in Cardiff due to family matters but is thankful and lucky to be able to attend the graduation here and was more honoured with the ceremony being graced by Prince Charles, the Chancellor of the University of Wales.

Sukardi Hj Moksin who graduated in Bio Medical Science, via a 2-year government full time in-service scholarship, is currently attached to the Environmental Health section at-the Ministry of Health.
