Bandar Seri Begawan - Asia's leading travel facilitator, Abacus International, acknowledged the achievements of local travel agents during the Abacus Appreciation Night last night.

Anthony Tours & Travel Agency, Freme Travel Services (BSB) and Century Travel Centre (BSB) were awarded as the top three local travel agents in the nation in terms of Air Booking for 2006/2007.

Meanwhile, the top performing travel agent and top performing airline for the FareX Achievement Award went to Freme Travel Services (KB) and Singapore Airlines Limited respectively. Non-air booking for 2006/2007 was awarded to Mas Sugara Travel Services. The event is an opportunity for Abacus to recognise our travel agency partners in Brunei for their contribution to our growth, not just over the last year, but over the last 17 years. Abacus and the local travel industry have grown from strength-to strength as a result of the mutual support and respect for each other," said Abd Halim Haji Abd Rahman, Marketing Manager, and Abacus Brunei.

"This year is also a special year for Abacus as Abacus International has been accorded the best Global Distribution System (GDS) at the 181 TTG Travel Award 2007 for the ninth consecutive year. The chief guest of honour, Mr Wong Peng Hoon, Senior Vice President of Royal Brunei Airlines and Director of Abacus Brunei, presented the top 10 travel agent awards and the Abacus FareX Achievement Awards.
