New Nissan X-Trail SUV Enters Local Market
By Huraizah Ahmad

Bandar Seri Begawan - After its debut early 2000, the second generation of Nissan X-Trail SUV has finally entered the local market.

Boasting a redefined 2.5litre petrol engine that tops out at 125kW (170PS) to generate responsive power, bracing. j acceleration and refined delivery together with excellent low and mid-range torque.

The X-Trail features six-speed semi-auto transmission with Xtronic CVT that promises more fuel efficiency than the previous model.

With interchangeable 4x4 driving mode switch, drivers can select from either the '2WD' mode that shifts power to front wheel driving and enhance fuel efficiency when cruising around the city or the `Auto' mode, which automatically analyses the terrain and distributes the precise amount of torque to each wheel to ensure better handling on any terrain or the `Lock' mode that provides extra grip to fix the torque at the optimum runt-rear ratio for a more confident 4x4 handling in sand or rough terrain.

To enhance driving pleasure for all occupants, the rear independent multi-link suspension is fine tuned for excellent rear hold, high-speed stability and sure cornering.

Its rugged SUV exterior is further enhanced with standard 17-inch alloy wheels and xenon headlamps.

The new Nissan X-Trail highlights a major facelift - the large and improved luggage compartment space that features the `double luggage floor mode'.

Those who enjoy the beautiful outdoors or those who are engaged in a number of sports activities will certainly appreciate the unique luggage feature available.

The main improvements in comfort, fuel efficiency and storage space is definitely an added plus for the Nissan XTrail that represents `No Limits' in delivering value, style and driving pleasure.

The official unveiling of the new X-Trail was launched before Nissan customers at the Boustead Showroom in Beribi on Friday.

"Nissan is one of the most profitable companies among global automakers with an operating profit margin of 10.1 per cent - a revival that signifies the carmaker's new philosophy: The Nissan Shift Program. However, it is not just doing well that counts, but also striving to be the best and delivering better performance each and everyday," said Mr Lim Jin Lee, Marketing Executive of Boustead Sdn Bhd in his address at the launch. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
