SCB Holds 'Well-Being Week'
By Yusrin Junaidi
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Standard Chartered Bank and its staff members
received a pleasant surprise on Monday when baskets of fruits were
hand-delivered to their department and workstations as part of the
bank's Well-Being Week.
The surprise was just one of the
many activities held during the week to promote healthy balanced
lifestyle.
Yesterday, more than 100 staff
members took part in a Walk-a-Mall around the capital in the
afternoon to highlight the WellBeing Week, with the help of the
Royal Brunei Police Force. Present to lead the walk was Chief
Executive Officer Ms Tiew Siew Cheun.
The walk began from the bank's main
office in the capital at Jln Sultan towards the Yayasan Sultan Haji
Hassanal Bolkiah Building and Taman Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien,
before making its way back to the main office.
During the event, all staff members
were encouraged to take part in sharing tips with their colleagues
on healthy recipes, hobbies and participate in fun-filled quizzes.
The entire week will focus on the
importance of personal well-being to take a holistic approach to
one's daily lifestyle. Alongside this, members of Standard Chartered
Bank Brunei also had the opportunity to win a holiday trip to Koh Sa
Mui, Thailand.
According to Ms Tiew Siew Chuen, it
is important to recognise that everyone needs a holistic- approach
to life for physical, mental and emotional well-being.
She also said that the well-being
week is "a catalyst to educate and encourage our staff to practise
and instill balance to work life and fun into their daily routines."
Another important message to raise
this week would be to inform everyone that December 1 is World AIDS
Day and we have a mascot to remind us to do what we can to help
raise awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDs," she added.-- Courtesy of Borneo
