Joint Celebration At Islamic College

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Islamic College (Mahad Islam) in.Tutong held a joint celebration of Teacher's Day and Civil Service Day at the college yesterday.

The function began with a mass reading of the'Fatiha led by Ustaz Hj Abd Manaf Hj Abu Bakar followed by a speech from the co-deputy organising chairperson, Ustazah Hjh Hamdiah Hj Mohd Salleh on behalf of the college's principal, IJstazah Hjh Omi Kisum Hj Mohd Noor.

In her speech, Ustazah Hjh Hamdiah congratulated members of the college's teaching staff for their dedication and endeavour in educating the students. There was also a slide presentation, showcasing the activities organised by the college all throughout this year.

The gathering saw a presentation of donation to a member of the college's teaching staff, whose mother passed away recently.

There were also contributions for intending Haj pilgrims from the college, presented by the co-deputy chairperson, Ustaz Hj Hamdan Omar. The function ended with the presentation of awards to members of the teaching staff who excelled in the performance of their duties. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
