His Majesty Hosts Malaysian Agong On Farewell Visit By Azrol Azmi & Za'im Zaini

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg Anak Hjh Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar bte Hakim Mazhar yesterday consented to receive in audience His Majesty the Yang DiPertuan Agong XII, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Fauziah binti Al-Marhum Tengku Abdul Rashid, who are on a two-day farewell visit to Brunei Darussalam, yesterday at the Istana Nurul Iman.

Also present to greet Their Majesties during the audience were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, HRH Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Hjh Zariah, HRH Prince 'Abdul Malik, HRH Prince 'Abdul Mateen, HRH Princess Hjh Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, HRH Princess Hjh Majeedah Nuurul Bulqiah, HRH Princess Hjh Hafizah Sururul Bulqiah, and HRH Princess Hjh Masna.

The visiting royalty from Malaysia is leading a 32member delegation that includes Dato' Seri Sharifah Fazira binti Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and Datuk Paduka Hj Mohamad Yaacob bin Dato Seri Azizul Hassan.

On arrival at the Istana Nurul Iman, the visiting royalty received a royal guard of honour as the national anthems of both countries were played.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam then invited Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin to inspect the royal guard of honour.

The visiting royalties were later introduced by the Grand Chamberlain to other royal family members and dignitaries. The visiting royalties were then led to the Ceradi, Laila Kenchana of the Istana Nurul Iman for the royal audience.

They then proceeded to the Baitur Rahmah at the Istana Nurul Iman for a luncheon, after which the visiting royalties were bid farewell by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang DiPertuan of Brunei Darussalamn, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg Anak Hjh Saleha and HRH Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar as well as other members of the royal family.

Earlier yesterday, the arrival of Their Majesties the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong at the Brunei International Airport was greeted by HRH Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, and HRH Princess Hjh Masna.

Also present to greet the visiting royalties from Malaysia at the Brunei International Airport were Brunei's Minister of Education, Pehin Dato Seri SetiaAwg Hj Abdul Rahman, Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, Datuk Ali Abdullah, and other senior government officers. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
