By Liza Mohd
Bandar Seri
Begawan - About 150 students from Sekolah Rendah PJN Pengiran
Haji Abdul Momin were awarded with prizes after achieving excellent
academic results throughout the year at a prize presentation
ceremony and the signing of school record development 2006.
Prizes were awarded to school
students who had excelled in academic subjects, project activities,
PSR examinations and sports events.
There was also a prize presentation
for winners of a religious quiz competition held last month. It was
hoped that the presentation of prizes would motivate the students to
study harder in the future, apart from creating exemplary models for
other students in the school.
The school's principal, Dayang
Hajah Zahrah, in her welcoming remarks said the school has achieved
better academic results this year with 90 per cent of the 661
students passing the final examinations while 80 per cent of those
who sat for the PSR examinations had passed and will pursue their
studies in Secondary One next year. She also thanked parents and
guardians for their assistance and attention in nurturing and
guiding their children in their studies.
She hoped that the close
cooperation between teachers and parents will continue in monitoring
the students' academic progress and performance. Present as chief
guest at the function was Senior Education Officer from the Schools
Department, Awang Ramlee bin Abdul Rahman, who also presented prizes
to the students. -- Courtesy of Borneo
