Reaches 45
By Yusrin Junaidi
Bandar Seri
Begawan - A restaurant in Delima Complex was yesterday
ordered closed after showing poor hygiene at its premises. This
brings the number of restaurants ordered closed to 45.
Following two visits to the
restaurant, officials deemed the establishment had failed to meet
the 70 per cent hygiene level required to operate a food outlet.
It was learnt that Health
Department officers had inspected the restaurant on November 7 and
again on November 18, during which it earned 68 per cent and 65 per
cent respectively.
Following negative reports from the
Quality Control Division and Food Health, Ministry of Health, the
Brunei-Muara District Office Licensing Board produced the closure
notice to the restaurant, ceasing its operation until repair works
and improved cleanliness are made.
The Quality Control Division and
Food Health assess the hygienic level of restaurants and grade them
between 0 and 100 per cent, where 70 per cent is the minimum
standard hygiene mark needed to pass the test.-- Courtesy of Borneo
