Pre-Departure Briefing For Intending Pilgrims

Bandar Seri Begawan - A pre-departure briefing for intending Haj pilgrims was held yesterday at the Islamic Dakwah Centre in Berakas, attended by some 400 people who will be making the trip to Mecca this year.

Present at the ceremony was the Deputy Religious Affairs Minister, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Ishaaq bin Hj Abdullah. The ceremony began with a mass recital of the Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Imam Hj Nuin bin Hassan.

The pilgrims were later briefed by the chairman of the gathering, Awg Hj Ibrahim bin Kamis, the managing director of Humaira Travel Centre, Hj Ramle Hj Kamis, and the chief officer for RBA in Saudi Arabia, Sofryni Hj Serbini.

Later, appreciation certificates were presented to RBA, members of the medical personnel, as well as Haj bithsah officers for 2005 and 2006. The doa selamat to mark the close of the gathering was read by Imam Hj Sunoh bin Suru. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
