Dr Lee Boon Yang, 59, was appointed
Minister in the Prime Minister's Office in July 1991 and

Diplomatic relations between Brunei
Darussalam and the Re public of Singapore were established in
January 1984. Both countries have bilateral cooperation in several
areas such as trade and investment, communications, education,
broadcasting, cultural as well as technical assistance.
A number of Memorandums of
Understanding (MoU) have been signed which include the areas of
broadcasting and education. The many MoU's on broadcasting
cooperation have resulted in co-produced programmes by the Singapore
Broadcasting Cooperation (SBC) and Radio Television Brunei (RTB).
The latest cooperation between both
countries was the performance of a rhapsody concert which was also
held last night as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
between RTB and Singapore's MediaCorp, the successor to SBC. Popular
singers, accompanied by musicians and dancers, from both countries,
conducted a live concert last night in the capital.
The Rhapsody concert now in its
second year has replaced the, previous Sukma Irama annual shows.
Last night's concert was also one of the highlights for the
Singaporean minister's visit to the sultanate.
