This third generation 2.0-litre Honda
CR-V expands on the original concept to incorporate further
advancements in design and performance, to ensure an enjoyable
experience for
its occupants, no matter where they go or what they do.
When it first made its debut in
1995, the Honda CR-V also created a new segment in the SUV market by
combining the comfort of a passenger car with outstanding everyday
practicality. It went to amass total sales of more than 2.5 million
vehicles in 160 countries around the world.
This third generation 2.0-litre
Honda CR-V expands on the original concept to incorporate further
advancements in design and performance, to ensure an enjoyable
experience for its occupants, no matter where they go or what they
do.
Since its introduction, the CR-V
has been designed to function as a runabout vehicle that offers the
comfort of a sedan with the off-road manoeuvrability and utility of
a minivan, creating new possibilities for mobility.
The dynamic appeal, dashing flair
that all-new Honda CR-V has unites bold, rugged lower-body
construction with sophisticated, sporty upper-body styling. The
forward cabin form with windshield thrust forward and side windows
designed to provide continuity from front to rear imparts a sporty
image.
For the lower body, a protective
motif is employed throughout. The amply protruding front and rear
fenders as well as large diameter tyres accentuate the wide tread to
convey a feeling of power. The spare tyre is towed under the floor
and tailgate opens vertically for improved styling and
functionality.
The body chassis rigidity has been
increased throughout to control the transmission of vehicle
vibrations to the interior cabin, while comprehensive noise
insulation and absorption measures around the cabin result in a
superbly quiet ride.
The CR-V is equipped with a new
2.0-litre i-VTEC engine - a combination of VTEC and VTC - that
delivers powerful torque at all engine speeds.
The sporty performance of the new
CR-V is at each tap of the accelerator with a maximum power output
of 150PS/6200rpm and 190Nm/4200rpm torque. The fuel consumption is
also improved by 10 per cent over the previous model.
It is a new, real-time 4WD system
that conveys 20 per cent more torque to the rear wheels than the
previous systems and Drive By Wire (DBW) provide coordinated control
for a major improvement in driving stability.
With its five-speed automatic
transmission, discover sedan-style driving performance with the new
CR-V. The safety performance of Honda CR-V has been engineered to
contain comprehensive safety measures for its occupants in the event
of an unavoidable collision.
Features like the dual SRS airbags,
active headrests and an anti-lock braking system (ABS) that work
with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA)
are fundamental injury prevention examples that govern its
occupants' safety.
In addition, Honda's original
G-Force Control (G-CON) technology enhances passenger protection
while mitigating on the other vehicle.
