Conference To Address Questions On Future Of Business

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei National Business Conference on November 30 will address some of the most important questions on the future of business in Brunei and beyond, discussing such topics like: What are the key industries of the future?

Is the future going to be big for those in biotech, ICT or education? How will it affect the business I have today? What are the key challenges for business leaders and policymakers? How can Brunei prepare itself now?

Insights and knowledge on those industries and more would be presented by leading speakers in the areas of biotechnology, ICT and education, among the, Mark Dougan, director of Frost & Sullivan's Industrial Practice in the Asia Pacific region, from Sydney, Australia; Tengku Farith bin Tengku Ahmad Rithaudeen, president and founder of the SKALI Group, Malaysia; and Profesor Greg Whittred, president of University of New South Wales Asia in Singapore.

Dougan manages consulting activities for clients, with a specific focus on Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia.

Tengku Farith is responsible for the strategic vision, overall management and leadership of SKALI and has more than 13-years experience in management and business. He is also the president of Technopreneurs Association of Malaysia (TeAM).

TeAM was formed by a group of Malaysia technopreneurs to assist in the development of the country's digital economy.

Tengku Farith is also a co-founder and current advisor of the New Entrepreneur Forum (NEF), which among others aims to promote the development of Malaysian bumiputera ICT entrepreneurs. He sits on other advisory boards both in the public and private sectors that focus mainly on industry and netpreneur development in Malaysia.

Professor Whittred holds a B.Com (Hons) from the University of Queensland, an M.Ec from the University of Sydney and a PhD in accounting and finance fro?n the UNS W. He is the author of four books, including the leading financial accounting text in Australasia, that is the "Financial Accounting: Incentive Effects and Economic Consequences - 6th edition".

Professor Whittred's teaching and research interests are in the areas of corporate governance, value-based management and financial statement analysis. He has extensive consulting experience in both the public and private sectors.

Themed "How will the future be different?" the National Business Conference is organised by the Asia Inc Forum, in partnership with TOTAL, Brunei LNG, ING Private Bank and Bearing Point. The Conference is supported by The Empire Hotel and Country Club, RTB and the Brunei Press.
