Ex-Army Association Elects New Leaders At AGM

Bandar Seri Begawan - Members of the Ex-Army Association gathered at the Lecture Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas last Sunday to elect new leaders at its I0`h Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Members unanimously elected three former soldiers who were among the first intakes of Royal Brunei Armed Forces as their advisors for the administration year of 2006 to 2008. The new advisors are Pg Sanggamara DiRaja Major General (Rtd) Pg Haji Ibnu Baasith Pg Datu Penghulu Pg Hj Apong, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Mohammad bin Haji Daud 'and Pehin Datu Indera Setia Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Damit.

Members also retained Pehin Datu Indera Negara Lt Cot (Rtd) Dato Paduka Hj Md Ariffin bin Dato Paduka Hj Abd Wahab as their president. Other elected members are Pehin Dato Paduka Seri

Major General (Rtd) Haji Sahri bin Ahmad (the deputy president); Major (Rtd) Awang Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Ibrahim (vice President); Major (Rtd) Pg Hj Tajuddin Pg Mohd Yassin (Vice President), WOI (Rtd) RSM Hj Moksin Haji Tahir (Vice President), W02 (Rtd) Haji Mohd Noor Haji Mahari (Vice President); Pehin Datu Perkasa Cot (Rtd) Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Ishak bin Haji Abd Hamid (Secretary General), Major (Rtd) Haji Abdullah Sani Pehin Dato Seri Utama Haji Ali Hussein (deputy Secretary General) and Lt Cot (Rtd) Haji Hashim Hj Zainal Abidin (Treausrer General).

Another five members were elected as members of the executive committee. Formed 15 years ago, the association plans to attend the World Veteran Assembly to be held in Kuala Lumpur next month and organise the Feast of Sacrifice or Hari Raya Korban at the end of next month.
