First Chinese Website On Brunei Launched

Bandar Seri Begawan - Thousands, of potential Chinese speaking investors as well as tourists especially from the People's Republic of China, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan will be able to gain valuable investment and tourism information on Brunei Darussalam with the launching of Brunei's own Chinese language website www.e-huawang.com

In a press conference, Mr Michael Jan and Mr Sim Chong Siang, the persons in charge, said the idea of the website is to serve as a link for China's investors to Brunei Darussalam following the growing ties between both countries.

With the setting up of the website, it is hoped that it can provide accurate information on the Brunei government for potential investors.

The Chinese website, which is the first of its kind, was created solely for the purpose_ of promoting Brunei Darussalam. It also contains valuable information on the Chinese non-governmental organisations in Brunei, daily news relating to the country and features prominent figures in the local Chinese community.

It also has links to the RTB-Chinese channel as well as information for investors on the manufacturing, agricultural, fishing and farming sectors. Mr Sim Chong Siang revealed that it took his team more than three months to kick start the operation and they will be constantly upgrading the website.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
