Missing Australian Man In Good Condition After Shahbandar Ordeal
By Yusrin Junaidi

Bandar Seri Begawan - An Australian man was found at around noon yesterday by a search and rescue team after he went missing at Bukit Shahbandar in Jerudong on Sunday night.

The man, identified as Christopher Wregal who is staying at the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong, had apparently entered Bukit Shahbandar alone and could not find his way out while following a new track.

Mr Wregal was found in a good and stable condition at around 12.30pm yesterday at "Bukit 5" at Bukit Shahbandar. The Royal Brunei Police Force in Sengkurong and the Fire and Rescue Department in Jerudong sent the search party to look for him at 10.30pm on Sunday.

Taking part in the operation were some 20 personnel from the Royal Brunei Police Force and a search and rescue team from the Fire and Rescue Department in Jerudong-called `Operation F' led by Operation Commanding Officer, Hj Sofian Bin Hj Tahir. Police Officer Sengkurong District, DSP Cik Puan Dinah, and Commandant Fire and Rescue Jerudong, Hj Norsalam bin Hj Jais, were also at the scene.

The public are advised to be careful when entering Bukit Shahbandar and to bring along a mobile phone and a compass in case of any incident.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
