Young Graduates Attend Convocation

Bandar Seri Begawan - Nusa Laila Puteri School (NLPS) yesterday held the 28th convocation for its kindergarten students from Tanjung Bunut, Telanai and Kiulap branches at the International Convention Centre, Berakas.

Present as the guest of honour was Director of Language and Literature Bureau Dr Mataim Bakar, who also launched the ceremony and an education festival as well as presented certificates to young graduates.

Also in attendance were the school's president and advisor Dr Pg Amir Mohd Yussof Pg Abbas Al-Haj and principal Cikgu Hjh Sharifah Noor Hj Saiyed Ibrahim as well as administrative and teaching staff.

Following the national anthem by NLPS Telanai, a doa and a Surah Yasin were recited by students of NLPS Kiulap and presentations in Malay, English and Arabic languages by students of NLPS Gadong and Kiulap.

Invited guests and parents were also entertained by a series of colourful stage performances by the students including "Rhymes and Action Song", Indian dances, and Nasyid.

Concluding the entertainment segment were kindergarten two and primary one students with a "Parade of Nations", before the presentation of certificates to kindergarten three graduates. Next was the presentation of prizes from TAIB Islamic Insurance Sdn Bhd to "Best NLPS Pupils 2006" - Abd Haziq Ikhwan Abdullah Rudiman of primary one and Nurdiyana Yasin of primary two in NLPS Berakas; Mohd Adi Asqawi Adanan of primary three and NoorAni Amarina Adanan of primary five in NLPS Gadong; and Nurul Insyirah Jifri of primary four in NLPS Kiulap - by TAIB assistant general manager Awg Hj Osman Hj Mohd Jair.

Thirty-nine kindergarten two and three children also received "Excellent Pupils Awards" by Dyg Rubiah Adis before all graduates sang "Selamat Berpisah" to mark the conclusion of the event.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
