SSEAYP Ship Heading To Brunei

Begawan - The Nippon Maru, which is carrying participants of
the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP), will be
arriving at Muara Port for a four-day stay from November 19 to 22. The
aim of the visit is to enhance friendship and understanding between
regional youths and Japan.
Sponsored by the Japanese government
since 1974, SSEAYP 2006 kicked off on October 23 at the Japanese port
of Yokohama. The ship will return to Japan December 4, after docking
in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines.
The Nippon Maru will berth at Muara
Port on Sunday at 10am, where, participants will be briefed by the
local committee before attending an orientation.
On Monday, national leaders, the
ship's administrator and participating youths will head to The Rizqun
International Hotel in ciadong for a welcoming ceremony and lunch
hosted by the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports.
Next, national leaders, the ship
administrator, interpreter, administrative staff and the Director of
Youth and Sports will leave for Istana Nurul Iman for an audience
ceremony, while youths will leave for a home stay matching ceremony.
The youths will then spend the next two days with their foster
families.
Meanwhile, former participants
especially from thee years 1986 and 1996 who will be celebrating their
20'h and 10'h anniversary respectively and who have registered their
names will join a reunion ceremony on the ship on November 21.
A farewell ceremony will take place
on the afternoon of November 22, which is expected to be officiated by
Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Awang Haji
Yakub.
The ship will then sail to the
Philippines, the last stopover, before heading back to Japan to end
