Will Vandals Ever Learn?
By Rahmat bin Haji Abdul Rahman and Ah Wei

Bandar Seri Begawan - The problem of vandalism in the country has never eased even with penalties or fines imposed on the perpetrators.

Vandalism not only tarnishes the image of the nation but also costs the country thousands of dollars to repair the damage that has been done to public properties.

Newly built commercial buildings around the town area have been the latest targets of vandals. Graffiti can be seen sprayed on the freshly painted walls of the new buildings which causes an eyesore.

School vandalism is repIrted to be rampant nowadays. Most of the properties vandalised are usually in facilities such as the toilet, classrooms and the library.

With greater civic awareness, the problem of vandalism could be curbed.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
