Teachers Attend Math Workshops

Bandar Seri Begawan - To expose the new mathematics curriculum development for Primary Two and Primary Five that is to be implemented in year 2007, mathematic teachers throughout the country on Monday attended workshops at Institute Perkhidmatan Awani (IPA) in Rimba, Gadong.

The four-day workshop, attended by hundreds of mathematic teachers, were facilitated by officers from the Curriculum Development Department, Mathematic Unit at the Ministry of Education.

According to Hj Noruddin bin Hj Morshidi, an officer of the Curriculum Development Department (Mathematic Unit), the workshops were aimed at enhancing knowledge and exposing the teachers on the new curriculum that is to be implemented in year 2007, as well as to boost their teaching skills.

The workshop for Primary Two teachers was facilitated by Mr Palanisamy Veloo, an officer from the Curriculum Development Department (Mathematic Unit), while for Primary Five teachers it was facilitated by Hj Noruddin, as well as other officers.

Hj Noruddin. futher said that for year 2008, mathematic teachers for Primary Three and Six will be invited to attend similar workshops. The mathematic workshops will conclude on November 16.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
