LTD Temburong Gets New Building

Temburong - The Land Transport Department's office in Temburong officiall t relocated to a brand new building last Thursday. On hand to officiate the event was Minister of Communications, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong.

According to Director of Land Transport Department, Awang Haji Mohammad Alimin bin Haji Mohd Tanjong, the new building is located on a three acre land in Kampong Gadong Baru, Mukim Batu Apoi. With a cost of approximately $900,000, the new building is part of the department's project under the 8th National Development Plan.

After the opening ceremony, the guest of honour toured the new building and a mini exhibition organised by the department. The event was marked by the planting of a palm tree by the minister on' the ground of the new building. In the afternoon, the Minister of Communications held a discussion with members of the legislative council from Temburong, penghulus, village heads and heads of longhouses in the Temburong Community Hall.

Those present at the ceremony were Pengiran Haji Mohd Yakub bin Pengiran Haji Othman, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications, Director of Land Transport Department, Acting Temburong District Officer and Ministry of Communications personnel as well as relevant government and non-government agencies.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
