Top Speakers Sign On For Business

Begawan - Preparations are on track for Asia Inc Forum's annual
National Business Conference on November 30.
The number of registered delegates
continues to increase while several foreign key speakers have
confirmed their participation in the conference.
Among those scheduled to speak at the
conference are Dr Surin Pitsuwan, Dr Abdullah Alyahyaey and Ms Elim
Chew.
Dr Surin Pitsuwan is the Deputy
Leader of the Democrat Party of Thailand, a former Member of
Parliament and Foreign Minister. As an MP, he was appointed Deputy
Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1992-1995 and Minister of Foreign
Affairs from 1997-2001.
In September 1999, as Chairman for
the Asean Regional Forum, he led the Southeast Asian governments to
help restore law and order and brought about peace and security to
East Timor. Dr Surin will share his views on post-coup Thailand and
its impact on business around the region.
Dr Abdullah Alyahyaey is the Director
of Exploration Operations, Ministry of Oil and Gas, Oman. DrAbdullah
has extensive experience in Oman's oil and gas industry and is
entrusted with the task of continued oil and gas exploration in all
onshore and offshore areas in Oman. He will share the Oman story of
growth and provide insight on how their experience may benefit Brunei.
Singapore's Ms Elim Chew is an
inspiration to many SMEs and regional business leaders alike for
steering her business from a small shop to a regional operation. As a
street-wear guru who started small in a highly competitive Singapore,
Ms Chew will share her knowledge on what it takes to expand the
business and succeed. She is the Founder and President of 77th Street
(S) Pte Ltd, now a market leader in Singapore's street wear retail
industry, and a global business investing in youth shopping malls in
China and Asia.
This year's National Business
Conference is themed "How will the future be different?" and will
bring together more than 300 corporate executives, policymakers and
entrepreneurs from Brunei and abroad to discuss opportunities and
challenges in the context of Asean and globalisation, in an
environment that respects diversity of opinion. The Conference is
partnered by TOTAL, Brunei LNG, ING Private Bank and Bearing Point. It
is supported by The Empire Hotel and Country Club, RTB and Brunei
Press.
Asia Inc Forum has been organising
the National Business Conference since 2002. It aims to become a
