Exhibition, Competitions And Quiz Planned For World Town Planning Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - World Town Planning Day falls on November 8 every year. According to the Town and Country Planning Department, exhibitions, competitions, walkathon, quizzes and other events will be held as Brunei Darussalam joins planning authorities throughout the world in celebrating the occasion.

The Town and Country Planning Department will celebrate the auspicious day on November 15 at The Mall in Gadong. The event will be officiated by Minister of Development, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Hj Awg Abdullah.

The theme for this year is "Planning Today for Better Tomorrow The main event on that day is the Planning Exhibition on Information Technology and Town Planning

Role at the Central Atrium of The Mall. Other events will be the prize, presentation for winners of essay competition on town planning, radio quizzes on the air and at The Mall, as well as colouring contests for children. The exhibition will be held from November 15-17, 2006.

World Town Planning Day will also be celebrated at Tutong Mall and Jubilee Park in Belait on November 26 and December 3, 2006 respectively. The public is welcome to attend the exhibition and other events.

A walkathon hosted by the Ministry of Development and organised by the Department will be held at Tasek Recreation Park on November 19, 2006 in conjunction with World Town Planning Day. The Minister of Development is expected to flag-off the walkathon at 7 am. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
