New School To Open In Kampong Rimba

Bandar Seri Begawan - Kesuma Mekar School will open next academic year at Perumahan Kampong Rimba, Gadong, offering pre-school and primary school classes.

A presentation of key was held yesterday morning which saw chairperson of Kesuma Mekar Cooperation's board of directors Datin Hjh Misli Hj Awang hand_the school key to the principal, Cikgu Pg Hj Md Yassin Pg Damit.

Shareholders of the school also received certificates from Datin Hjh Misli.

According to Datin Hjh Misli, the school, which cost $600,000 to build, is aimed at providing quality education to pre-school and primary school students.

She also said even for the best institution, students' achievements largely depend on the level of commitment from administrators, teachers, parents and students, adding that it is only through combined efforts can academic excellence be attained.

The new school, built on two hectares of land, will begin offering kindergarten and primary one classes to children aged 3 1/2 and above.

Meanwhile, the ceremony, which was also held in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, saw a dikir performance by Tasmera aimed at enlivening the event.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
