Donation For Kg Birau Fire Victims

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Islamic Religious Council yesterday donated B$2,200 to the recent fire of victims of Kg. Birau in Tutong District.

At the donation held at the Religious Affairs Office in the district, Head Religious Officer of the District, Awg Haji Mat Zain bin Haji Muntol advised them to look for temporary housing, whereupon the Religious Affairs would fund the rental.

Awg Mat Salleh bin Said is head of the family of 10, who are now living with relatives. It was the Brunei Islamic Religious Affairs' efforts to help the less fortunate affected by fires and other calamity. Awg Mat Salleh and family lost their house and belongings in a fire on Nov 1, 2006.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
