Raya Celebration At Danau Village

Bandar Seri Begawan - MPK of Danau, Tutong held a Raya gathering yesterday at the village's multipurpose hall. The celebration received warm welcome from the villagers that filled the hall.

Danau village headman in his welcoming speech said the event was one of the annual activities organised by the village consultative council committee members. He applauded the hard work and cooperation given by the villagers in organising the event. Some of the invited guests were former residents of the village.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the gift presentation to village elders who have married as couple in harmonies for about 50 years. Seven elder couples received the gifts. There were also some stage performances by Brunei local artistes who are also the immediate family members of the villagers.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
