Ministry Of Home Affairs Holds
Raya Open House

Begawan - The Ministry of Home Affairs and departments under it
held a Hari Raya gathering with an ‘open house' theme at the
Multipurpose Hall, Fire and Rescue Department in Old Airport, Berakas
yesterday.
Present as guest of honour was
Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Paduka Seri SetiaAwang Hj Adanan.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Paduka
Hj Dani, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, deputy
permanent secretary, senior officers and staff of the ministry.
Village heads, Mukim penghulus and heads of long houses also attended
the event as invited guest.
Chairman of the ceremony, Dato Paduka
Awang Hj Ahmad bin Hj Dullah, kicked off the event with a speech
followed by the guest of honour. In his speech, Pehin Dato Awg Hj
Adanan said the event this year was organised by Prisons Department,
in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
He also thanked the Prisons Director,
chairman of the ceremony and committee members for successfully
organising the Hari Raya gathering.
The concept for this year's
celebration is 'Rumah Terbuka (open house)', and involves the
participation of all departments under the ministry, including
officers and staff, instilling a sense of ‘gotong-royong' or
togetherness in each department while boosting creativity.
The annual event is held in
conjunction with the Hari Rava Aidilfitri celebration and aims to
strengthen ties and bonds of staff in the ministry and departments
under it.
Highlights of the night included a
performance by the Ministry of Home Affairs, a lucky draw as well as
