Mitsubishi Corp Welcomes New

Begawan - Mitsubishi Corporation hosted a dinner reception to
welcome Mr Akinori Miyasaka, the new general manager of Mitsubishi
Corporation (Brunei) and to bid farewell to the outgoing General
Manager, Mr Hirofumi Kawabata at the Empire Hotel and Country Club on
Thursday evening.
Among the guests were Pehin Major
General (Rtd) Dato Haji Mohammad Bin Haji Daud, the Minister of
Culture, Youth and Sports; Pehin Dato Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Dato Seri
Hj Mohamed Taib, the Minister of Education; Dato Haji Hamdilah Bin
Haji Abd Wahab, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Primary Resources.
Mr
Masayuki Mizuno, the Senior Vice President, Division COO, Natural Gas
Business Division A, Energy Business Group of Mitsubishi Corporation
Tokyo, in his speech commended on Mr Kawabata's fruitful career in
Brunei Darussalam.
He said, "Mr Kawabata is considered
the longest serving GM in our Brunei Liaison Office with a total of 5
years and 3 months. During his tenure, Brunei Darussalam office had
witnessed many auspicious events like the launching of LNG tanker
Abadi with His Majesty's attendance in 2002, the 30th Anniversary of
LNG project in 2003, HRH Crown Prince's wedding in 2004, delivery of
%,000 LNG cargoes in 2005 and Brunei International, Tattoo to
celebrate His Majesty's 60"' Birthday this year."
Mr
Masayuki Mizuno further added, "Mr Kawabata had also been actively
involved in numerous business activities in Brunei and was able to
accomplish his assignment successfully."
Introducing the new General Manager
of Mitsubishi Corporation (Brunei), he highlighted that Mr Miyasaka
has been with Mitsubishi Corporation for 21 years mainly in carbon
especially coal chemical related business.
He joined Brunei project unit last
year and was involved in the proposed fertiliser project at Sungai
Liang Industrial Park.
Touching on Mitsubishi Corporation,
the Senior-Vice President said, "Mitsubishi Corporation has embarked
in the LNG business in Brunei since 1971 where the Brunei Liaison
office was first established."
"Mitsubishi Corporation takes its
pride in involving in Brunei LNG business and other related businesses
such as MCFARM Brunei Gas Carriers and the proposed fertiliser project
in Sungai Liang Industrial Park. And we are into our 33rd years of
partnership with Brunei Government and the Royal Ducth Shell Group of
