Honorary Pilot Wing For RBAF Commander

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof, received an Honorary Pilot Wing (First Class) from the Air Force of Indonesia's Armed Forces (TNI-AU).

Besides the award, the RBAF Commander was also made an Honorary member of the Special Corps or KORPASKHAS.

The presentation of the award was held at the TNI-AU main headquarters in Cilangkap, Indonesia on Thursday, a press release from MinDef said. The award was presented by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (KASAU TNI), Marshall TNI Herman Prayitno.

Before the ceremony, the Commander of RBAF made a courtesy call to Marshall TNI Dato Paduka Seri Djoko Suyanto, Commander of Indonesia's Armed Forces at its headquarters.

Present at the courtesy call were Chief of Staffs from the Land Forces, Navy and Air Force. Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi received an honour salute upon arrival before proceeding to inspect the Guard of Honour.

RBAF Commander was taken by helicopter to Bandung for the ceremony. In Bandung, he was also given an honour salute and inspected the Guard of Honour. The ceremony began with a display of military skills from members of the Special Corps.

Marsma TNI Putu Sulastra, Commandant of KORPASKHAS later led the ceremony to make the Commander the Honorary member of KORPASKHAS.

Pehin Data Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi is the first RBAF Commander to received such a recognition by the TNI Special Corps.
