Woman Gets Four Months For Overstaying

Bandar Seri Begawan - An Indonesian woman was sent to jail for four months after pleading guilty to overstaying before the Bandar Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Ira Sariman, 36, was arrested after failing to produce valid travel documents during a raid conducted by Immigration Enforcement personnel at a house in Jalan Kelugos, Kampong Lumapas on November 8.

The defendant was questioned and it was found that she had overstayed in the country ever since her employment pass expired on July 20, this year.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
