PEMODA Bikers Embark On Peace Ride
By Azaraimy HH
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Three local motorcycle riders left for Kota Kinabalu,
Sabah yesterday to begin their 4,500km journey in the annual Mindanao
`Ride for Peace' event.
The three senior members of PEMODA,
ex-president of PEMODA Hj Abu Bakar Hj Md Arshad, Pg Shaminan Pg Hj
Mohd Salleh and Hj Maidin Mumin, joined other motorcycle club members
from Borneo to participate in the programme.
The three will ride from Brunei to
Sandakan via Kota Kinabalu, where they will take a ferry to the port
city of Zamboanga. They are using two Harley Davidsons and one
Kawasaki bike.
They said they will be there to
observe and view what the cities have to offer as well as the living
conditions in those areas. They also hope to promote Brunei as a
tourism destination.
This is the first time Brunei bikers
are participating in such a gruelling road trip. The trio will travel
across 4,500km of open road with a few ferry crossings in the event.
The trip will take two and a half
weeks, half of which will be on the road. -- Courtesy of Borneo
