National Quality Control Circle
Convention Concludes

Begawan - The two-day 2006 National Quality Control Circle (QCC)
Convention at the Civil Services Institute came to a close yesterday.
The closing ceremony was officiated
by the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Awg
Hj Abd Aziz OKML Hj Mohd Yusof.

Awg Hi Junaidi Hj Omar, in his capacity as the chairman of the
convention, said that the institute had conducted a review of the QCC
programme based on feedbacks from former participants during the Civil
Services Customer Day in July.
A number of reasons were found to be
the contributing factors to a team's success.
It was learnt that the commitment of
team members, the willingness to sacrifice time, money and energy,
support from management and staff as well as consultations provided by
the institute were some of the contributing factors that make a
successful team, Awg Hj Junaidi said.
The director of Civil Services
Institute said that all those who took part in the convention were al
I winners, as there were no first, second or third place rankings.
However, judging was based on the
level of achievement of the teams, where they would be put under one
of three categories: gold, silver and bronze. This was to encourage
teams to continuously improve themselves to make it into the gold
category, Awg Hi Junaidi said.
Initiatives suggested by the
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dato Hi Abd
Rahman Hj Mohiddin, during the opening of the 2006 convention would be
studied and proposed to relevant parties so that it would be
implemented swiftly, he said.
The director of Civil Services
Institute added that this would increase the number of ministries and
departments' involvement in the QCC programme activity.
He also pointed out that the Civil
Services Institute has a web site.on the QCC programme.
Meanwhile, the head of the judges'
panel for the convention, Awg Md Zeni Latip, announced the results of
the 2006 National QCC Convention.
There were no gold category winners
in this year's convention. However, those who were in the silver
category received a plaque, $1,000 cash and certificate of
participation. AF for bronze category winners, they receive a plaque,
$500 cash and certificate participation.
Thirteen teams were in the silver
category namely `Bersatu Padu', - 'ExCalibre', 'BIG', 'Peranca', 'An
Nuur', `UPMV', 'Rimba', 'AlFurqan', 'Syura', 'Majuara2006', 'Terabas
Perintis', `Safety 11" and 'Salimbada'.
Meanwhile, 'Barisan', 'Rimbun',
`TNT", 'Stereng', 'Ar-Ri'Ayah' and `Processing' were in the bronze
category.
Following the presentation of prizes,
the director of Civil Services Institute handed over posters for the
2007 National QCC Convention to the representatives of various
