Brunei Representatives At Disaster Management Meeting

Bandar Seri Begawan - Two officers from the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC), Ministry of Home Affairs - Senior Supt Sallehudin bin Ibrahim and Supt Janaidi bin Hj Gunong - are currently taking part in the 6th Meeting of the ADPC (Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre) Regional Consultative Committee (RCC) on Disaster Management.

The November 8-10 meeting is being held in Kunning, Yunnan Province, China.

The meeting will include a special session on the progress of the implementation of the Hygo Frameworks of Action (HFA), which was adopted at the 2"d World Conference on Disaster Reduction.

There will also be a series of special presentations on the earthquakes that hit Pakistan and Indonesia, the Leyte landslide disaster in the Philippines and how countries are recovering from the 2004 tsunami. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
