'QCC Improves Productivity'
By Lyna Mohamad
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Quality Control Circle (QCC) can have a huge impact
on the upgrading of performance and productivity of the civil services
as a whole even though efforts to implement it may look insufficient.
This was stated by the Deputy
Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Awg Hj Abd Aziz
OKML Hj Mohd Yusof, during the closing of the 2006 National QCC
Convention yesterday morning.
QCC
is still relevant and useful in assisting management parties
particularly when there is a need to settle disputes, he added. The
deputy permanent secretary hoped that all teams who took part in the
two-day convention would make an effort to learn how to rectify
weaknesses, as this was part of the learning process.
He added that QCC helps to produce
more civil services personnel who are skilful in tackling problems,
writing reports, delivering speeches and conducting meetings
effectively.
Among other things, QCC helps staff
members become more responsible, disciplined individuals who have a
strong principle in ethics. Furthermore, it gives committed staff
members a sense of belonging in the organisation.
Awg
Hj Abd Aziz called on team leaders to press on with the introduction
of QCC at all levels in their respective organisations. Without'
strong support, from all top levels, the QCC-activity will not be able
to achieve success, he said. The deputy permanent secretary advised
people to shrug off any negativity towards QCC.
People should continue to learn and
gain experience in this field, he said, adding that they should not be
afraid of being criticised. Instead, they should take it as a
challenge, he said. -- Courtesy of Borneo
