Aidil Fitri Joy For Ministry

Bandar Seri Begawan -The Ministry of Religious Affairs and its departments held their Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration yesterday at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Haji Awg Mohd Zain Haji Serudin was the guest of honour. Accompanying him was the Minister of Development, Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awg Abdullah Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar.

Also present were the deputy minister of education, a former deputy minister of religious affairs and the head Syar'ie judge.

The event was opened with a recitation of AlFatihah led by Pg Haslin Pg AliPrior. This was followed by tausyeh (religious advice) by directors and heads of divisions and senior officers at the ministry.

The guest of honour and his colleagues also visited tables representing departments, divisions and units of the ministry.

At the event, five contests were held including colouring and jawi writing for children under 12, cake and fruit decoration and kelupis (cooked rice wrapped in plant leaves) wrapping. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
