Call For Dedication, Honesty In Service
By Shafiyi Azahari

Bandar Seri Begawan - The chairman of a local security company urged his staff yesterday to maintain their integrity at all times.

Dato Seri Paduka Awg Eusoff Agaki Ismail, at a Hari Raya gathering for Setia Protective Security Services (SPSS) Sdn Bhd, told his men that they needed to be honest, trustworthy and committed.

"SPSS personnel must carry out their duties with honesty, trust and commitment at all times," said Dato Eusoff, who is also Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.

Dato Eusoff said SPSS personnel should never be involved in activities which were against the law because such activities could tarnish the company's image.

"Crimes such as drugs consumption must be avoided because they will tarnish the image of SPSS," he said.

"The company will take disciplinary action against anyone committing any criminal act." He said gatherings such as those for Hari Raya should be used as opportunity to foster relations among the company's personnel and tighten their bonds.

Such an occasion could also promote harmony within the company and the society as well.

The chairman of the ceremony, Major (R) Pg Suhaili Pg Kahar, said the company's gatherings could also be used as a medium for exchange of experiences and opinions among the personnel.

He said resilience during the past fasting month of Ramadan should also be reflected in the accomplishment of tasks. "It (resilience) is needed to withstand ordeals and also serves as a purpose in carrying out duties with honesty, trustworthiness and responsibility," said Pg Suhaili, who is the officer in charge of the support company.

Apart from singing and theatre presentations performed at the ceremony by personnel of SPSS, the ceremony also presented prizes to the best personnel in their performances.

The S304 inspector, Mordadi Dagong from `B' Company, won a prize as the best security inspector for 2006 and Roslee Ahmad as best male head of guard.

WS 1025 Nurtuti Amelina Abd Razak from 'A' Company was the best female head of guard.

Both S726 Mohd Najib Morni from 'B' Company and WS 1755 Faridah Sinin from `E' company were the best security guards. The `B' Company was also the best for office administration and control post. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
