By Dannie Abu Basrah
Bandar Seri
Begawan - DPMM FC extended their lead at the top of the DPMM FC
4-team Football Championship 2006 with a 2-0 win over Sabah FA at the
Jerudong Mini Stadium last night.
DPMM
FC coach Buketa Ranko made a few changes from the side that triumph
3-0 in the opening game playing Arsyah Ayob in a central midfield
position as he partnered Shahrazen up-front with Brazilian Rodrigo
Lombardo Tosi while hard man Pg Sallehudin Pg Hj Damit was placed in a
three-man defence.
The formation proved to be working
well which presented Rodrigo Lombardo Tosi plenty of goal scoring
opportunities. The Brazilian's first came on the 16"' minute but only
managed to hit the side netting where he was guilty not to score again
on the 29th minute, failing to capitalise from a one-on-one situation.
Central defender Rene Komar too had a
go at the Sabah goal pushing up for a corner as he saw his attempt
cleared off the goal line and Tosi had two more chances before the
break.
Sabah
FA's best chance of the half came from Rosdin Wash on the 23' minute
from a flowing move as his powerful 20-yard shot hit the inside of the
right post but unfortunately bounced out off the danger area.
DPMM
FC introduced trial player Thato Siska from the restart in place of
Rosmini Hj Kahar and the move instantly paid dividend on the 54th
minute as he scored the opener with a curling shot to the right side
of goal, adding to his two goals tally scored in the first match.
Misfiring first half striker Tosi
finally managed to get his name on the score sheet scoring with a
cheeky goal chipping the ball over the approaching goalie five minutes
from time to seal the game 2-0 for DPMM FC. DPMM FC's Pg Sallehudin Pg
Hj Damit was named man-of-the-match'. -- Courtesy of Borneo
