New Chef From China At La Mee Restaurant
By Huraizah Ahmad & James Kon

Bandar Seri Begawan - La Mee restaurant in Delima Satu has brought in anew chef from Shaanxi Province in North Western China to create its popular `flying noodles'.

The hand-pulled noodles, which is the staple food in North Western China, has gained a large following here in Brunei.

Making these noodles requires exceptional skills and techniques that can only be mastered by those who have been making it for a number of years.

The noodles are produced using a slab of dough that is stretched manually several times until it eventually turns into strings of noodles.

La Mee restaurant, the only halal restaurant serving these noodles, will also be introducing new flavours for the popular dish.

The Shaanxi hand-pulled noodles are available with traditional or specialty soups and local flavours including Kolomee, La Mee goreng and Tom Yam La Mee soup. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
