Ministry Of Religious Affairs Marks Aidilfitri

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Religious Affairs and departments under it yesterday held an Aidilfitri celebration at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

The annually held event was organised to allow ministerial personnel a chance to strengthen ties among each other.

Present as guests of honour were Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Dato Dr Ustaz Hj Awang Mohd Zain and Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Dato Ustaz Hi Awang Badaruddin.

Also in attendance were Minister of Development Pehin Dato Hj Awang Abdullah, Pehin Dato Paduka Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakar, Pehin Dato Ustaz Hj Awang Yahya bin Hj Ibrahim, Awang Hj Salim bin Besar and serta officers and staff department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The ceremony opened with a Surah al-Fatihah reading, and was followed by a welcoming speech by Co-Chairman Pengiran Hj Mohd Tahir bin Pengiran Hj Yusof.

The day also saw a Tausyeh performance and a `Salawat' performance delivered by the directors, head of departments and senior women officers.

Later, a 'bersalam salaman' was held in conjunction with the festive celebrations.

Attendees were also able to witness several side events that included quizzes, competitions on `menjalin kelupis,' fruits decorating, Jawi writing and traditional cake making, as well as a colouring contest for kids.
