Minister, Village Heads Fosters Ties Over Raya Coffee

Bandar Seri Begawan - Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Dato Seri Setia Hj Adanan yesterday conducted several Hari Raya house visits in Belait District in a bid to foster strong relations with both district and mukim leaders.

The first visit was to the official residence of Beliat District Officer Haji Mohammad bin Haji Abd Rahman, where the minister got together with government officials.

The minister then continued his visits to the homes of Kampong Pekan Belait Village Head Haji Johari bin Omarali and Mukim Seria Chief Village Haji Jamail bin Haji Linap, where he mingled with the local villagers.

Later, visits were made to the homes of Lumut I Village Head Haji Mohd Shafiee bin Haji Ahmad and Sgliang Village Head Haji Mohd Azmi bin Abdullah.

The minister and his entourage took a break for Zuhur - prayers at Masjid Kg Sg Liang before carrying on with Raya visits to the homes of Labi II Village Head Haji Abdullah bin Haji Idris and Mukim Labi Chief Haji Kamarahan bin Atma.

The visits aimmed to strengthen relations, between officials at the ministry and village heads in the Belait district, to see the development of mukims and also to encourage cooperation among the people. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
