Call For Youth To Join Healthy Activities

Bandar Seri Begawan - The leader of Brunei Youth Council (MBB) urged the district-level council committees to plan more activities and events to promote patriotism and nationalism.

Prof Madya Dr Haji Hashim bin Haji Abd Hamid, MBB president, called for youth leaders and motivators to devise new methods to encourage youths to join healthy activities.

"We need to line up many activities to attract youths. Through youth associations we can guide and support them," he said.

He spoke to district-level youth council committees from Brunei Muara, Belait, Tutong and Temburong at a Hari Rava gathering in Sengkurong yesterday.

He urged youths to instill the right values that would protect them from negative elements and enable them to be progressive and be leaders in their own right.

He said the government is sensitive and responsive to the demand to strengthen moral and ethical values among youths.

The event was attended by Awg Abu Bakar Haji Moksin and Awg Haji Nayan Haji Laman, officers of Youth and Sport, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and MBB executive committee members.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
