Truck Fire Causes $30,000 Loss

Begawan - A commercial truck caught fire on its way to deliver
a load of sand yesterday afternoon.
A short circuit in the engine was the
cause of the fire, which caused an estimated $30,000 damage, according
to the Fire and Rescue Department.
Yesterday's fire incident was the
third reported in the Bulletin since Friday afternoon.
The driver said he was driving along
the mini-roundabout near the TAIB Filling. Station when he saw smoke
rising from the truck's engine. After he pulled over to the side of
the road, he said he saw the engine on fire.
He quickly notified the Fire and
Rescue Department. Eight Fire and Rescue personnel from the Beribi
Fire Station led by ASO Pg Hj Mohamad Pg Tengah were dispatched upon
